Design

ASUS Zenbook Pro is a laptop that has a premium design. Built with a solid and sturdy full aluminum construction, this laptop offers a pleasant experience when holding it. Moreover, the front surface of this laptop seems luxurious.

The placement of the ASUS logo on the right edge gives a unique and different impression. This explains that the design of this laptop does feel premium. Moreover, this ASUS logo looks like a light texture center that surrounds the surface of this laptop.

Obviously with a sturdy construction makes this laptop not a canned laptop. The build quality of this laptop is really good. Moreover, zenbook pro duo meets the military standard MIL-STD 810G which means that this laptop is really sturdy.

The shape of this laptop, if examined from the edges, forms a trapezoid. This gives a different impression compared to most laptops. This trapezoidal design explains one thing, the laptop is wide at the top but slightly shortened to the bottom. An example is in the image below.

It can be seen in the picture above that this laptop really offers a trapezoidal design. Seen on the left side of this laptop comes with one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port, an audio jack hole, and a Thunderbolt port.

On the side again, there is a port for power, an HDMI port, and one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port. Next to it is a space as an air vent. The same is also on the side next to it. These vents obviously make room for the laptop to dissipate heat well.

Then, where are the speakers located? This part of the speaker is located on two sides on the diagonal that leads down. This speaker produces a sound that is relatively good and pleasant to the ear. The sound produced is really nice and premium. It’s natural because the speakers on this laptop already use Harman Kardon speaker technology.

Now let’s open this laptop. Opening this laptop can use one hand although it is certainly more comfortable to use two hands. Hinge this laptop is quite solid and doesn’t feel clunky when opened. This hinge is not up to 180 degrees but can be adjusted to the diagonal.

When the laptop is opened, the bottom of the laptop will rise slightly which will provide a comfortable typing experience. The technology that ASUS often refers to as Ergolift.

Speaking of typing, this laptop offers a keyboard that is quite comfortable to use. It’s just that the typing position must be a bit backwards because the position is more advanced when compared to other laptops in general. This backlit keyboard is quite comfortable to use.

Because there needs to be a place for the touchpad, ASUS placed the touchpad on the side of the keyboard. The touchpad is quite responsive and comfortable to wear. This touchpad can also function as a numpad, if you need number computing.

Above the numpad, there is a power button that blends into the keyboard. Next to this power button, there are other special buttons, namely the button to turn off the touch screen function on the screen of the two, the button to move applications on the main screen or on the screenpad, and the button to change the laptop from ordinary mode to turbo mode.

The presence of a second keyboard and screen has an effect on the width of the laptop. Fortunately, this doesn’t make the laptop look claustrophobic. Of course, thanks to the design design of this laptop that has been taken into account, including the size of the body of this laptop.

The height size (right-left side size) of this laptop reaches 2.4 cm. It is longer when compared to ASUS ROG Zephyrus S and ASUS ROG Zephyrus G which only reach 1.8 and 1.9 cm. Not only tall, this laptop is also thicker than ROG Zyphyrus which is famous for being a thin gaming laptop.

Because it is thicker and wider, ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo has a heavier weight, which is 2.5 kg. Compare that to ASUS ROG Zephyrus which only reaches 2.1 kg. Not to mention that this laptop charger is quite heavy.

With this heavier weight, making ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo a fairly heavy Zenbook series. In fact, this laptop is indeed different from most Zenbooks which offer a thin body design.
